Hayward Lumber is pleased to announce that we offer Pakari, a new and innovative outdoor wood choice for customers who are both environmentally and aesthetically conscious. Manufactured at a solar powered milling facility using wood sourced from FSC Certified tree plantations by Kelleher Corporation, Pakari is one of the most sustainable and eco-friendly options for decks, railings, and other outdoor projects. Pakari is also versatile and a great value.
Made from thermally modified clear, moulding-grade Radiata Pine, Pakari is aesthetically beautiful with a tropical appearance that can resemble exotic hardwoods. Reduced heat absorption gives it a luxurious feel that is easy on bare feet and, because it is more durable, straighter, and lighter than unmodified wood, it will stand the test of time and sunshine. Pakari is insect and fungal decay resistant and withstands water absorption, resulting in a low-maintenance outdoor space. No chemicals are used in the treatment of the wood, unlike composites and treated wood.
Pakari is one of several products developed with the application of proven technology to Radiata Pine. Another example is Kelleher Advantage Plus. With Advantage Plus, the fully treated, primed trimboards, mouldings, and sidings are strong and versatile as well as easy and safe to use for interior or exterior applications. Termite resistant Advantage Plus comes paint ready with two factory applied 100% acrylic coatings and with a 30-year warranty.
Both of these innovative softwood products offer outstanding value with better performance and a lower cost per linear foot than comparable alternatives.
